About Chris

I am a 48 Psychology teacher with 17 years experience.

I am friendly and approachable but more importantly patient. I appreciate that A Levels can be difficult and that sometimes a little bit of support and extra guidance is required in order to maximise our potential. If you are struggling to keep up with the fast pace of psychology, having difficulty interpreting examination questions, struggling to write those longer essays, and want to achieve the best possible grade in your examinations, then let me help you. My motto is ‘There is no such thing as a stupid question, if you don’t get it, ask’. I have been teaching Psychology for 17 years. I have taught in both schools and standalone sixth form colleges. I have been an assistant Head of Department for a very large Psychology Department and I have also been a Head of Department in a school. My Psychology students have achieved marks well above the national standard. I am also an examiner for AQA Psychology. This has given me expert knowledge of exactly how to interpret and answer questions in order to gain full marks. I have taught AS, A2 and GCSE Psychology for AQA. I have an exam question orientated approach as being able to interpret questions is vital. If you don’t know what they are asking of you, how can you answer it properly? We will take your class notes and use them to construct the perfect exam answers. I will set you work to complete, which I will then mark and provide you with constructive feedback at the start of each session. In addition to you own notes I can supply you with new resources, workbooks and revision packs.

Outstanding Teacher

I currently work with Chris, where he is a Psychology lecturer. Chris is one of the calmest and most patient people I have come across. He is an examiner for the AQA A-level paper and his knowledge of the specification is second to none.

I worked with Chris at a large sixth form college when he was responsible for the leadership and management of the ‘AS’ Psychology course. In my opinion, Chris is an exceptionally hard-working and dedicated teacher. He is determined to achieve the best for all his students. He has excellent subject knowledge and a clear understanding of what is required to succeed on an ‘A’ level Psychology course.

I had Chris as a tutor for nearly 2 years to help me improve my A-Level Psychology grade. He provided me with all the necessery learning resources such as workbooks and practise exam questions. He was very thorough and always available for extra lessons I felt I might have needed. He didn't move on from a topic until he was certain I was confident and understood it. Chris made sure I knew what to expect when I sat down to do my exams and could answer every question possible and always reassured me I could do it when I was doubting myself! Chris was the best tutor I've had and he influenced my decision to go on to study Psychology at degree level. I was sad to say bye to Chris and I would highly recommend his help to anyone seeking a tutor.
I re-sat my AS Level using Chris's help and guidance and went from a E grade to an A (nearly full marks) then re-sat one other AS level and one A2 level the second year with Chris as a tutor and
