About Cheuk In
Hi there, this is Cherie and I'm an international aviation management graduate. Before September 2016, I have been living in Hong Kong for over 20 years and I came to the UK as a direct entry final year student at the University College Birmingham. This coming September, I’ll be taking a Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP Law School, so as to gain more knowledge in the legal industry. I'm now looking for part-time tutoring opportunity which is flexible enough to fit into my school schedule.
With over 3 years of private tutoring experience in Hong Kong, other job experience in retail (Starbucks UK, Starbucks HK, Grand Hyatt Hotel), sport coaching (Assistant Squash Coach), Hong Kong International Airport, and study abroad experience, I’m confident in working with non-English speaking person / English speaking person with my language skills professionally. Teaching has always been the job I enjoy the most as I appreciate students who listen and are willing to learn from me.
I’m native in Cantonese and English (reading, writing and speaking), fluent in Mandarin (reading, writing and speaking). I’ve an overall score of 7.5 in my IELTS test, (Reading 7, Writing 6, Listening 7, Speaking 8); HK Diploma of Secondary Education Exam: Chinese writing 5**, English writing 5**, English Speaking 5, English Reading 5 (Score Scale: 5** highest, 5*, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 as lowest). Also, I’ve done English-related courses in my previous University in Hong Kong with A- in English for Academic Studies, A in English Professional Communication Skills for Business.
In the last 3 years, I’ve done one-to-one private tutoring with over 10 tutees, sports coaching for a group of 20 primary students. Subjects covered in:
- English (Speaking, Writing and Reading Skills for HKDSE)
- Chinese (Speaking, Writing and Reading)
- Mathematics (Core Maths up to year 10 / secondary 4 / GCSE level)
