Hi, I'm Charlotte, an Oxford English lit graduate with two year's tutoring experience under my belt. I'm keen to teach all levels from primary to undergraduate and have taught privately, in groups and in schools at all different levels.
I have availability for one-off and biweekly sessions. Unfortunately with my degree I do not have capacity for more weekly students.
I particularly enjoy teaching 11+, 13+, GCSE and A Level. Although I specialise in English I teach History and Maths up to GCSE level and have worked with Edexcel, OCR, AQA and IGCSE syllabi.
I'm a very warm and approachable tutor who understands that building a rapport with students is paramount to their progress. I believe that my enormous interest in the subjects I teach is strongly conveyed and makes the lessons (hopefully!) enjoyable and intellectually interesting as well as informative and useful.
I focus on delivering sessions that make the student feel both supported and challenged. I always aim to equip the student to stand on their own two feet academically, and so particularly work on confidence building and developing the required key skills for the exam / project / coursework.
I aim to teach full-time in the future and really enjoy the possibilities afforded by tuition - it is unparalleled in enabling students to tackle challenges and achieve potential.
I previously worked in music but have just started a law conversion course, and very much enjoying my return to university! In my spare time I run, go to gigs, and read voraciously. One reason I love teaching English is that it allows me to keep my love of literature a very active part of my life.
I have a wide-ranging knowledge of different exam boards and syllabi, and my specialisations are medieval and world literature.
If you'd like to book a session please send me a message to discuss what you're looking for! Alternatively you click on my availability calendar and choose a time that suits you, and the Tutorfair website should lead you from there.
