I am a teacher of
mathematics with a M. Ed. In Advanced Skills Teaching and M.Ed. in Applied Analysis and
Computers Mathematics. I have a CCP (Certificate of Pedagogical Competencies) –QTS
equivalent. I also have the UK QTS.
I worked as a tutor teaching Maths to KS3 and GCSE (Escola Secundaria Jose Falcao –
Coimbra,Portugal) and I worked as a full time teacher on a permanent basis to teach Maths to KS3 (Agrupamento de Escolas Fernando Pessoa –Lisbon, Portugal).
In the UK I worked as a cover teacher, TA, Maths Tutor, (Maths) Teacher and invigilator,
from June 2013 until July 2015.
From February 2015 to March 2015 I worked in Primary schools as a tutor preparing students for the SATs exams.
From September 2015 to May 2016 I worked as a Maths Teacher, teaching KS3 and KS4 (Focus School Kenley, and Tower Hamlets PRU).
From September 2016 to the present I have worked as a Maths Teacher, teaching KS3 and KS4 (Caterham High School and Ark All Saints Academy).
I have an up to date knowledge of the Maths curriculum/current syllabi.
I believe that motivation is the key to academic accomplishment and that can be conquered through the delivery of incitement lessons. I think that the key of a good tuition session is in being focused on the individual needs of each student, and evaluating every error of the pupils’ education plans, by writing and keeping effective records and reports.
My original, organised and self-motivated lessons have proved to be encouraging and
pedagogically effective. In my opinion these are the ingredients of successful teaching, especially the ability to inspire students.
I believe that every child can reach their learning potential with high expectations, the necessary support and opportunities and a caring classroom. I make sure that every child knows that they are worthy, by listening and caring for their needs. I work hard to create a classroom that celebrates achievement and progress.
I believe in teaching students with dignity, and in providing a fun, student centred learning environment.
After each session, I reflect on my own practice, in order to improve my skills, and develop as a tutor.
I’m very motivated, I’ve got an outstanding leadership spirit and I deal well with pressure. I have experience dealing with SEN students, and I always try to maintain mutual respect within the classroom, in order to create a healthy environment of work.

Catarina is passionate about Maths, patient and helped me to understand areas where I was struggling. After her support I managed to achieve beyond my target grade.
I have known Catarina for 20 years now, and I think it's safe to say that she is smart and trustworthy. Catarina has a passion for teaching, having changed carers to pursuit that passion.
She is a naturally gifted teacher and I know she will make an excellent tutor. No person she speaks to ever feels like he/she is being talked down to, or that Catarina is growing impatient with him/her. If someone doesn't understand, she simply begins again, or tries another approach.Catarina is a hard worker and understands the needs of her students, she made me understand college math and helped me through it.
She would be a valuable asset.I have known Catarina for many years now. She always talks about how much she enjoys teaching, that is why she chose her Masters in education.
She is very committed to her job. She does a lot of research and she studies very hard to be the most up to date with the current programme. She is a very hard working person, I have seen her commitment to the job. She would spend days studying and understanding the subjects given at school
Catherine is a person who has always said that she wanted to be a mathematics teacher. She was successful at this goal.
She was and continues to be very persistent and has all the qualities necessary to be a good teacher or explain very well Mathematics (a trustworthy tutor).
She knows how to make Maths simple and to teach students to like Maths.
She gave explanations to students with mathematical problems who then reached positive in this discipline without difficulties.View more recommendations
