About Carla
Hi!
My name is Carla, I was born in Spain and I am studying TQUK supporting teaching & learning in school level 3 awards (QCF) AT Uk Open College which is giving me stronger translation skills and a good understanding of the English language and its grammar. Also I’m graduate in Economics at Valencia University (5 years degree) .
At the moment I am Freelance private tutor.
So far I have 13 months experience as a foreign private tutor in London which started in August 2014. I´m teaching Spanish 12 hours a week to groups between 1-6 students from Year 9 to Year 11.
For this section of students I was creating learning activities to improve their conversational skills and enhance their vocabulary in a stimulating way. They would always follow the subject of the curriculum studied in the lessons with the Spanish Teacher.
I was using images, words, Spanish media, videos and songs so that they were using their visual, oral and listening skills.
Essentially we were working on their grammar, pronunciation and the main topics of the exams. I wanted them to develop their own ideas on the topics they were studying and establish how to express them in Spanish.
With Year 12 and 16 I was using texts, so that they could correct the grammar and practice their spelling. They had to read to practice their pronunciation and understanding of the Spanish language. We were regularly preparing mock exams to make sure they were ready for their A Levels.
