About Callum
A student, originally from Warwickshire, who is in his second year studying International Relations. Having always been interested in history and politics, I obtained an A* in A Level history, and I am now working towards obtaining a undergraduates degree from the faculty of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds. I believe the best way to learn subjects such as history and politics is to thoroughly engage in the subject matter at hand. To do this, I believe that techniques such as debates, conversations and mixed media learning resources are far more useful than the archaic method of purely book-led learning. Whilst textbooks and scholars hold their own merit in the sphere of learning, I believe they are best used as a tool alongside the more engaging and illustrative educational methods as mentioned above. Students who achieve the highest results go beyond simply rope learning course content as it is fed to them; instead, they engage in discussion, debate and criticism of the information they are provided with, in order to construct more cohesive and concise essay answers.
