About Brendan
I have always had passion for science. That has clearly been my driver all along. I have a Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from Coventry University, and just started a PhD in Bridge Engineering this October at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). I am also currently a Teaching Assistant (Demonstrator) at NTU, as well as a Volunteer Teaching Assistant (TA) at Berridge Primary school, Hyson Green, Nottingham.
I have a strong grasp of science subjects especially mathematics and physics and I have always tutored privately on these courses. During my MSc at Coventry, I regularly tutored engineering undergraduates in courses like: Engineering Mathematics, Statics, Mechanics of Materials, Theory of Structures, Design of R.C Structures etc, both one-on-one, and in organised group tutorial classes. Also, during my undergraduate study, I prepared high school students for their GSCE and A levels in Physics and Mathematics. My students have all spoken highly of how the extra lessons have helped improve their grades.
I am naturally a very patient, and empathetic person. I understand the difficulties and fears faced by students, that is why I employ a subtle but powerful approach to teaching, where I focus on students understanding the concepts and basics, as opposed to memorising formulas and procedures. This leads to a deeper understanding of the topic, and creativity, which will help the students a lot. I always try to motivate my students as well because at the end of the day, if you believe you can do it, then you will.

Perfect! Excellent Teacher
Brendan is currently tutoring my child with her GCSE's maths. so far she has made so much improvement. Through Brendan calm and patient methods, she was able to fill the gaps in her knowledge which then allowed her to answer questions and develop on exams technique.
Brendan is very reliable, has great worth ethic, very focused and most importantly was able to understand my child weak areas to build her confidence. I highly recommend him!
