About Michael
Growing up, I was deeply impressed by the stories my parents told of life under Communism. They lived through a highly restrictive, government-controlled economy which required visas to move between cities and even banned Christmas for being too religious. This is why Coca Cola’s 'Santa Claus' is so ubiquitous in Eastern Europe around Christmas, and how McDonalds came to be seen as symbols of freedom and progress. For me, Economics is a way of understanding human beings, and the societies they create when they are allowed to be free.
I went on to study Economics at the University of Aberdeen where I achieved First Class with Honours, and followed this with a Masters in Behavioural Science at the University of Warwick (Distinction). I decided to become a teacher because I know that helping students in school can be transformational for their opportunities in life. I also saw teaching as the best way of sharing my passion for Economics with others. Since I obtained my teaching certificate (PGCE Economics) from the University College London, I have taught at some of the top schools in the country, include Rugby School and the London Academy of Excellence in Tottenham. I now have six years experience of working full-time in education, three as a teacher, and three as the Head of Economics.

I am the Head of Economics at a well-known boarding school with 6 years of experience teaching Economics. As an experienced teacher with a deep understanding of Economics, I am confident in my ability to help you achieve success in Economics. I have a strong track record of helping students achieve their academic goals and reach their full potential. In the most recent examinations, I achieved 77% A*/As across the A-Level Economics candidates.
As a full-time teacher, I understand that everyone learns differently and I strive to provide individualised lessons tailored to your needs. My lessons are engaging, interactive and I use real-life examples to make the subject matter relatable and easier to understand. Whether you are struggling with the Economics content or exam technique, I have the knowledge, experience and resources (that I have developed) to help you succeed.
My aim is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for you to learn and grow. I understand the challenges faced by students and I work closely with them to identify areas where they need help. My lessons are designed to help students overcome their weaknesses and build confidence in the subject. I provide regular assessments to monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve.

Michael tutored me for my Economics A-Level, and I cannot recommend him enough. What set him apart was his engaging teaching style. He created a relaxed and friendly environment that made learning a joy. Plus, he had a great knack for making even the most complex topics approachable and relatable.
I had the pleasure of working with Michael for a few months and I can confidently say that he is an outstanding Economics tutor. From the very first session, it was clear that he had a deep understanding of Economics and a talent for explaining complex concepts in a way that was easy to understand. Michael was always very well-prepared for our sessions, he was patient and understanding and he always took the time to answer my questions to ensure I understood each topic before moving on. I would highly recommend him!
Whenever I came across problems regarding economics I have always turned to Bogdan. His clear way of explaining and his easy going manner made him the obvious option. Without his help, I wouldn't be in Scotland now in my second year studying economics and finance. One recent example of how he helped me was when I first started University and I had been given an essay to do, this was my first essay I had to write in English about economics. Firstly, he suggested a few books which would help my vocabulary and knowledge of theories in the economic field, while also committing his time and effort to proof-read a few of my first essays which helped me adjust much faster with the working pace of university life.
