About Blandine
Bonjour !
My name is Blandine, I'm 23 years old and I'm French. I'm currently working office hours in London and am looking to tutor some students in my spare time.
I completed an undergraduate degree (Licence, so three years) in English language, literature, civilisation, with a specialisation in translation at my French university in 2015, and completed a Master's degree in audiovisual translation in June 2018. I have also validated the first year of a Master's in research (literature-focused) while I was in Leeds on an Erasmus year.
I have previous experience in tutoring (in English) as well as teaching bits and bobs from my degree (phonetics, translation, grammar, etc.) to first years during orientation days (three years in a row). I was also part of a tandem scheme with a native English speaker during my second year of university, where I had to teach her French for 45 minutes a week and she had to teach me English for 45 minutes a week, according to what we wanted to learn/improve (we set weekly goals, i.e. fluency, conjugation, vocabulary).
I am very adaptable and am able to find creative methods for learning and remembering more easily. I am also concerned about how students feel regarding my lessons, and will respond to any query as best I can. As a learner of a foreign language, I can only understand the struggles one might have with learning my language.
