TA in Reception class (Primary)
I am a class teacher at St Michael’s primary school. Bernice worked with me as a TA last year in my Reception class. She is an excellent teaching practitioner, helping to plan and carry out a variety of creative activities for the children and working with small groups on phonics and maths interventions, supporting children with a range of needs. Bernice was an attribute to the class, providing superb pastoral support to the children and working very effectively as a team member. Subsequently, Bernice has been providing additional tutoring support to individual children in the class, focusing on Maths and literacy skills where she has built an excellent reputation with parents.
Early Years Support
Bernice is an extremely effective tutor/practitioner for primary age children supporting with different areas of the early years and KS1 curriculum.
Bernice has been giving school support to my son (5 years old) for several months.
She has covered a wide range of areas (maths, reading, writing/spelling) and tailored her lessons according to my son's needs.
She always approached the sessions with fun and enjoyable material to encourage my son's involvement.
Her great ability to communicate with children, patience and encouraging manners were a plus on top of her excellent teaching skills.
She has definitely helped my son to go through key stages of his learning process and he was always very much looking forward to his sessions with Bernice.
Bernice tutored my daughter Psychology at A2 level. Bernice was very quick at marking papers, provided good and clear feedback on the areas to focus on. Her approach was one of patience and kindness. She was clearly knowledgeable about her subject and was both enthusiastic and passionate about Psychology. She was both supportive and understanding about what my daughter needed, always on time and kept good communication through e mailing and texting. An excellent Tutor, highly recommended!
Went up a whole grade at A level and successfully secured her first choice at University to study Psychology
