About Ben

Guildhall Masters student. University of Bristol graduate.

I am studying for an MMus in Historical Performance on recorder at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, generously supported by the Michael James Musical Trust, a Derek Butler award from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, and a scholarship award from the Guildhall School.

I am an experienced performer and teacher. I have two professional performance diplomas, and an A* in OCR A level Music.

I have an up to date DBS certificate and have also completed the NSPCC Child Protection Awareness in Music training course.

Excellent Drum tutor, who taught my son the basics and boosted his confidence on drums and in life in general

Written by Alex S
Ben taught my son drums. He was patient and encouraging and made his lessons fun. My son enjoyed learning with Ben and always looked forward to his lessons with him. Ben is an excellent musician who has a degree in music and understands the theory as well as being a talented performer. He was not only a great drum teacher but a role model, who boosted my sons confidence and encouraged him in his drumming. Unfortunately Ben moved away otherwise he'd still be teaching my son; but he laid the foundation on which my son has progressed and he is now preparing for his grade 5
My son developed a love of drumming which has persisted and he is now preparing for Grade 5 drums

Re: Benjamin Carr Reference
I have known Ben for many years as we attend the same church as his family.
For 2 years, between the ages of 9 and 11, Ben taught my son drums,. He was an excellent teacher – thorough, diligent and encouraging. He was able to explain things clearly and carefully, and my son made very good progress under his tutelage. Ben has a calm and polite manner; he is quietly spoken, but confident and able to exert challenge and his own opinion where necessary. My son thoroughly enjoyed his lessons with Ben, as Ben took an interest in his life apart from the lessons and was able to engage in conversation about Josh’s other interests. His thoughtful card to Josh when he left for University demonstrated that Ben has a naturally pastoral heart.
I believe he has the necessary skills to make a wonderful addition to your team.
