About Begoña
Begona Carrasco, PhD. With QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
I offer Spanish lessons at all levels to both children and adults. I am a dedicated teacher with more than 7 years of experience. I currently work as a language assistant at an Exeter secondary school as well as teaching private students.
As a tutor and teacher I believe students should be given the opportunity to access language in its authentic context, I use a range of relevant, contemporary and current material (audio, video, newspaper/magazine publications, a range of recommended textbooks) in class. I am an enthusiastic, driven and passionate languages teacher whose aim is to encourage and build students' confidence and competence in the skills of speaking, reading, listening and writing. I am a very experienced second language teacher and teacher trainer at Exeter College, so I have high standards, but Begoña's approach has been perfect for me. She is extremely patient and very encouraging, as well as being great fun. I know she is very popular with the students at the school where she works as a language assistant. She relates really well to children, understanding their needs and is very knowledgeable on child-centred teaching methodologies. She is highly educated and able to explain the complexities of Spanish verbs very clearly!
