About Assitou
Born in a French speaking country, I am fluent in both languages: French and English.
Chemistry is a Science subject that I always felt strongly passionate about since my early years.
We all know that Chemistry occupies an intermediate position between physics and biology, which is why it is called the “central science”. Everything that we do involves some Chemistry and Chemistry can be found everywhere, even in our daily lives.
My passion for Chemistry lead me to study it at The University of Hull for my undergraduate degree, then subsequently work as a Chemist in Industry for the following 6 years. As a result, in addition to my Baccalaureat (equivalent of a A-Level degree), I also hold a Master's Degree in Chemistry with Nanotechnology with from The University of Hull (achieved in 2011).
During my time at the University, I learned about the various branches of Chemistry. This equipped me with a rather broad understanding of the topic. As a result, I would feel comfortable teaching/tutoring all the branches of Chemistry from Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry to Biophysical Chemistry.
I have extensive knowledge on the Subject of Chemistry and how it is applied in industry today, especially for the making of detergents and cosmetics. After University, I worked as a Formulation Chemist in a couple of Chemical companies. I developed, maintained and updated Maintenance solutions such as floor cleaners, degreasers, derusters, descalers, rust and corrosion removers, hand soaps, moisturizer and sanitizers. I ensured the responsive, professional, cost effective and efficient multiple project development stewardship of products from concept to completion. I also had the opportunity to liaise with other departments such as sales and marketing, regarding ongoing projects but also to coach students during their placement days.
I have successfully completed the Skills Enhancement course provided by TES institute (100% green) earlier this year.
Finally, I am currently a Science teacher trainee working towards a PGCE and QTS.
I am confident that I possess the tools to become a great teacher/tutor, able to continually reflect on the work at hand before action, in action and on action, in order to efficiently help the students individually.
