About Annette
I have more than 20 years of experience in education and recently completed a master's degree in education with a focus on online education and linguistics. My specialist subjects are drama, English Literature and English Language, life skills and study skills. My teaching diploma dissertation was in Drama and Theatre in Education. Before venturing into special needs education, I was the head of the drama department and also all arts and culture subjects.
During 2014 I completed a EFL level 6 qualification to teach English to Second Language Speakers.
I still, on a part time basis, teach GCSE English, life and study skills to special needs students in main stream schools. I have experience working with students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, on the autism spectrum and with speech and language difficulties and also partially blind and deaf. I use CBT techniques to assist students with anger issues and general behaviour problems and also for study motivation and goal setting.
I assisted numerous year 13 students with UCAS applications and personal statements and am happy to say they all got accepted into excellent universities, such as UCL and Imperial College.
I hold a DBS, child protection and team teach certificates.

My lessons are interactive and especially in subjects such as English and drama it is important thaut students find their own voice and generate their own understanding of the text.
I will lead and prompt but ultimately you will find the answer.
The most important tip that I have is that if you can justify a thought with evidence nobody can tell you that you are wrong.

If I could give 100 stars to Mrs Annette Hendley I would! Her teaching has been life changing for both my husband and myself. I have even passed down great lessons to my daughter who has won Item Winner in Eisteddfod. I might not be in the drama world anymore but all her profound teachings, lessons and coaching has got me where I am today in my legal career. I would not be as confident and goal achieving today if it was not for her.
Annette Henley was a brilliant and inspiring Afrikaans Teacher. She was patient and always willing to explain things in a greater depth until the lesson was clear and understood.
I have to admit, I was probably the worst student, I lack concentration and struggle to stay motivated… if it wasn’t for Mrs Hendley, I would not have passed! She was an absolute life saver! Her explanation and way of teaching kept me completely focused and enabled me to pass with flying colours! Thank you so much Mrs Hendley!

Annette actually taught both myself and my sister English language and Afrikaans at high school level for a number of years. I look back at my time in her classes with fond memories to this day. I can genuinely say that her patient approach to teaching helped me massively through the years. More importantly my grades improved dramatically as a result.
Annette is one of the most sincere, hardworking and dedicated teachers I have come across and has helped me not only for academic learning but also for skills that will last long for life. Some people are unforgettable for the positive influence they have in improving peoples' lives, and no doubt, Annette is one.
Anette is an incredible teacher and tutor, she holds a wealth of knowledge of all the era's and styles right back to ancient Greece all the way to modern contemporary concepts. I am a former student and studied with her for 3 years. I flourished in my classes and grew in my personal confidence, as i used to be extremely shy, this has been a huge benefit to me in my adult life and the senior position I hold currently I am comfortable presenting concepts to my colleagues, clients and shareholders. Anette is very approachable and relates well to students of all age groups, I highly recommend her.

Mrs Annette Hendley was my teacher in high school and she was a fantastic teacher! She is extremely patient and knowledgeable and encouraged me to exceed my own expectations! She is simply an outstanding and wonderful teacher who loves to see her pupils succeed!
This is a creative teacher who writes with academic confidence that displays the depth of her knowledge. A particular highlight is the way she is able to analyse a body of work and place a specific character in context of both the artistic and historical background, then make this knowledge easily accessible to the learner.
When I was in secondary school, I struggled studying English. During the course of my GCSEs, I was predicted to scrape a passing grade. However, having Mrs Hendley as my English tutor improved my grade massively. She especially helped with comprehension and structuring my answers.
