***** 5 Star Tutor and West End Actor *****

*Please note: At present i am only taking 90 minutes lessons and above. (Unless they are Skype lessons). Thank you!"

Hello! My name is Andrew. I've been a private tutor for 5 years. I was a slow starter at school so I understand the challenges pupils can face. It wasn’t till I moved school and found teachers who inspired me and believed in me that I started to excel. With this new found encouragement I went on to be offered an academic and music scholarship to Bradfield College and later a choral scholarship to Oxford University, although I chose to study History at King's College London. Following my degree I studied at the Royal Academy of Music and since then have worked consistently and successfully as an actor. Including performing as a lead in the West End in an Olivier award winning play, singing for HM Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Show and working alongside luminaries such as George Clooney and Maggie Smith in film and television.
Because of my own experience, I believe firmly it is the tutor-pupil relationship which can awaken potential.

My method is simple: I tailor the process to the person. We are all (luckily) unique, with wildly different passions and interests. For a student who is obsessed with YouTube stars I'll make mock videos/vlogs with them incorporating particular study skills. If a young child loves Pokemon I'll work that in to the lesson. If there is a seemingly uninspired GCSE pupil, I'll find their interest, connect with them, and show how they CAN do what they are under the impression they can't. And for the bright and gifted pupil I'll challenge and push them to excel even further.

In essence, I aim to give enthusiasm and confidence to a child, to form a relationship that can excite and inspire, and to support and simplify learning so they can find solutions themselves.

I believe we all have greatness within us, and with the right encouragement and application we can all reach our goals. I am a friendly, enthusiastic and encouraging tutor who loves helping children overcome obstacles and unlock their potential.

N.B. Please note, at present I can only take bookings of minimum 1 hour and a half. Many thanks!

Highly Recommended

Andrew was a great tutor for my son Joshua. He really helped him build his confidence and made English interesting. Joshua really struggled in class and as parents we felt the need to get extra help to ensure he got the much needed C in GCSE. With Andrew’s support and encouragement he got there! Andrew really helped him by walking through how to tackle answering exam questions. I will be asking Andrew to tutor my daughter Seren when she is about to start her GCSE in a couple of years’ time.

The perfect teacher

Andrew is teaching English to my 11 y old daughter. No need to mention that Andrew is always punctual. Andrew is always arriving with prepared documents for the lesson, with a clear plan, leaving homework and updating us on the progress and points of action. My daughter really enjoys time with this skillfull person.

A great tutor !

Andrew has been coming to help our 16 years old son for the last 3 months to help him prepare for his english langage and english literature GCSE.
Andrew has been very good to better equipped him in a subject which was not his favourite. We have also very much appreciated Andrew's very supportive approach and focus on positive reinforcement. we are very happy to warmly recommend him.
