I initially started work as a tutor in an agency some years ago. After a year of working there I opened my own branch of the company. I was both manager to 10+ tutors and also continued to tutor children myself. I ensured the progress of all the students and also the training of tutors where needed. The branch was and still is a great success. However, I have recently resigned with the intention of redirecting myself into part time work due to family commitments.
I am a dedicated tutor. I believe the key to learning is finding the right approach for each child. I firmly believe that anything can be learnt but it must be taught using a suitable method.
I am well experienced in both KS1 and KS2 SATS preparation for both English and Maths. My pass rate for SATS thus far is 99%. I have also tutored many successful 11+ candidates. This included preparation for English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning. Through my years of tutoring, I have found that the key to good results is a combination of clear explanation, applied practise and a plethora of relevant past exam papers.
I have worked with students with special educational needs, including Autism, Dyslexia and ADHD. I have also worked with students who have come to me with a negative attitude towards learning. Through my own passion of education, I have engaged them and helped them, not only to attain higher grades, but to adopt a positive outlook towards their learning.
