About Alexander

Experienced Philosophy and IB Tutor

Hi! My name is Alex, I'm half-Australian, half-Russian. I am about to graduate from King's College London with a BA (Hons) in Philosophy. After graduation, I will read for a MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy at LSE.

I find philosophy difficult. However, the questions are fundamentally interesting. So, I developed my skills and now consider my background in philosophy as my greatest asset.

For that reason, I enjoy helping others find the tools to tackle philosophical problems. I have both private and volunteer teaching experience, at IB, GCSE, A/AS-Levels and university-level. I help my students by creating simple reading guides to tough texts and fun examples where students are stuck. I also have a particular strength at teaching essay-writing skills, allowing students to develop their own understanding of the issue at hand in a logical way.

Best Philosophy Teacher!

Written by Marina Z
Alex helped me from January until my summer A level exam in Philosophy. I did poorly on my AS in Philosophy and realised that if I wanted to get an A I knew I would need help outside of school. Alex so clearly explained the texts and gave a lot of helpful examples so I could understand the underlying principles. He also really helped me with structuring my ideas into logical arguments and essay writing in general. I ended up getting an A and met my university offer. I’m now studying law at King’s College London and I couldn’t be happier! If you need help in philosophy I highly recommend Alex as a tutor!
A in Philosophy A-level and met my university conditional offer for law at King’s College London.

Great and insightful tutor who has a natural gift for teaching!

With no previous experience in Philosophy, when I was assigned an essay at university regarding medical ethics I felt completely lost!

I then came across Alex through a tutoring website, and had a few lessons with him, where he taught be the basics about philosophy and guided me through writing my essay. I really enjoyed his style of teaching, and I feel I am relatively comfortable in my knowledge of Philosophy now (I had never touched the subject before). In addition to that, Alex is a great writer (which helped a lot with my essay) and is easy to get along with, making the teaching sessions a lot more enjoyable.

If you are ever considering a tutor for philosophy, whether for a philosophy degree itself or for a philosophy-related assignment in University, I strongly recommend Alex as a tutor.

Thanks again Alex for the great results!
