About Alexander
I'm a 21 year old full time student at LSE in the final 6 months of my Statistics MSC. I graduated from The University of York last summer with a first class hons in Mathematics. The reason I am applying to be a tutor is that I feel my expertise in the field of mathematics (among others) could be an invaluable asset to a student on the brink of sitting their exams. As being someone who has recently gone through the rigor of school exams whilst also having completed a degree, I feel I am perfectly fitted to helping other students get through this tricky time.
I have a great deal of experience teaching other people. This includes having ran a guitar after school club in a local middle school; been asked by my old high school to come back and give one on one sessions to students struggling with their maths GCSEs and give advice to A-level students aspiring to study maths at top unis. I was also a college parent in my undergrad, meaning I had sessions helping a fellow maths student in the year below me. I also have had large amount of exposure to physics and mathematical physics making me well suited to teaching in the sciences as well. On top of this, I have an A-level in English Literature meaning I can also be available as an English tutor to some level.
I feel that, as a tutor, I can make a marked positive difference to someone's final grade by using my recent experience along side my considerable advanced training.
