About Alexa

Piano and Music Theory Tutor for Beginners to Intermediate

Suitable for children or adults who wish to learn or improve on piano/keyboard. Whether this is to learn songs and techniques without taking grades, or to follow the ABRSM grading system. Fully qualified piano tutor with a DBS check. I am an enthusiastic beginners teacher to help start off your journey of becoming a pianist, or a motivating tutor to further yours or your child's practice.

Throughout the past 3 years I have been teaching beginners piano at a primary school and doing private home visits for adults and children. I have been playing piano since a young age, achieving grades whilst at school and performing and teaching since then. I offer home visits around London. Experienced in teaching to primary school aged children I am an energetic enthusiastic tutor making beginning to learn this instrument a fun experience! For older students, I offer Music Theory Tutoring having achieved my Grade 5 Music Theory whilst at school and continuing to teach study groups for people taking this exam, or to help with Music lessons. I take students through exams if they choose with ABRSM (teaching music theory using these as work books for the students).

Above all, learning to play the piano should be an enjoyable and fulfilling experience!

My daughter who is 8 years old, connected really well with Alexa. She had only one lesson but she enjoyed it so much she's been asking when Alexa will be coming next. Alexa was punctual and well prepared also has good communication with children. I'd recommend highly.
A child who enjoys playing and looking forward to her next lesson.

I know Alexa for the past few weeks and started working with her for my children's piano lessons.
She is a friendly, following fun during teaching.
She is always on time, never cancelled any lesson.
She is very structured and organised in teaching, most of all, she knows what she is doing and knows how to tailor my children for theory as well as practical grades.
Looking forward for upcoming lessons, and my children also enjoys working with her.
Outcome- looking forward for the practical exam for my children- grade 1

Alexa is a great teacher. She's very energetic and encouraging. As a mother of two trying to learn the piano for the first time, it's been great to take on a new challenge. I look forward to my sessions and Alexa provides a great balance of challenging lessons whilst always going at a pace that's suits me.
Great to learn a fun and challenging new skill

Music theory at a pace that suits me

I attend private music theory lessons with Alexa and am finding it so enjoyable to be learning again. I haven't had any kind of music tuition for maybe 25 years, so there has been a big gap, but I'm finding that many things that I thought I had forgotten were actually just filed away in my brain.

Alexa uses good quality teaching materials in her classes and I find that these help to go back over what was learnt at each lesson. Alexa is careful to ensure that I understand each concept before moving onto the next and the lessons move at a pace that I can deal with.

I would recommend Alexa to others wanting to learn music theory.

The outome so far is that I am satisfied that I am making good progress in my studies and I am actually considering taking an exam to consolidate my learning.

Professional, organised and friendly.

I have always been taught how to play a musical instrument from a tutor, having had lessons from a young age, with many different teachers, Alexa has been great at teaching me the piano. Don't think she can quite beat the Robert Plant image of my old drum tutor, but Alexa more than makes up for it with fun lessons, encouraging feedback and a pencil over the back of the hand for a misplaced note, okay maybe not that last one. She's professional, organised and friendly, the lessons always have a great vibe to them, and most importantly, I can feel a marked improvement in playing in the short time studying with Alexa.
