About Alex

Creative and experienced tutor

I have had extensive experience as a teacher, drama facilitator and more recently a one to one tutor and teaching assistant. I was employed as one to one tutor through a company called The Complete Works. I worked with this company for 4 years primarily working with students and teenagers who had been excluded from mainstream education. I also worked a lot with students preparing them for their GCSE's. Prior to this I have spent many years as a drama teacher and facilitator from children as young as 3 up to 18 year olds. As well as being an experienced teacher and tutor of many years I am also a professional actor. I have taught drama to all ages and experience as well as directing shows for children and teenagers. Therefore I have an excellent knowledge of most plays by Shakespeare as well as other classical and modern playwrights. I have also worked within primary schools as a teaching assistant. I am passionate about all areas of literature, plays, poetry and English writing. I also write poetry myself and I am also nearing completion of my own full length play!

I have a very creative approach with my students and wholeheartedly believe in working with my student to help them achieve total confidence in themselves and subsequently their work. I am totally flexible to all students needs regardless of their age or ability.

Alex has been a tutor for my daughter for over 3 years, he has taught her English Language & Literature. Alex is a fantastic tutor who is able to understand the strength and weakness of the individual and design the teaching accordingly where the student understands what he is trying to teach them.
English Literature (GCSE)
My daughter has won several awards at school for her English work and at present is aiming for an A* for her GCSE. This would not have been possible had it not been for Alex.

Drama tutor delivers top performance across North West London!

Written by Henry B
Alex has worked for my company, Scruffbag Productions, delivering drama classes to young people in the borough of Brent. He was always on time, well prepared and his workshops were fun, challenging and engaging.

He demonstrates great enthusiasm and passion for drama and is very accomplished at meeting all session targets. His leadership skills are exceptional and he maintains a healthy balance of control and creative freedom when teaching young people.

I would recommend him to any company who are passionate about employing a high calibre of staff as Alex is extremely talented and professional.
Drama (Primary)
Alex's sessions were designed to rehearse and engage with improvisation as we were working towards developing a play with the young people built solely from improvised scenes. He was given clear t
