Adrian was a bright and capable student, who I had the pleasure of supervising. The supervision took place as Adrian took it upon himself to learn more about the research within the department and apply for a summer training placement. What was most impressive about this is that during the placement (and as an undergraduate student) he learnt enough and had the confidence to teach doctoral students the techniques he had learnt. In addition to this i also saw him use what he had learnt later in his studies to tutor his peers.
As well as his capabilities within Maths, science and engineering, he proved to be an able worker, prompt, punctual and able to use his own initiative, as a person he was, and still is well liked within the department.
