How to ace your Science GCSE exams. Command Words: A(i)!
How to ace Science GCSE exams!
A(i) State, Describe, Devise, Explain, Predict. Command words are those that tell you how to answer a question. As a GCSE Science examiner, I see many marks lost through students misunderstanding the command work, and therefore have insight into the most common errors. This series of interactive workshops cover the most common command words using 4- and 6-mark exam questions and prescribed practical exam questions. To consolidate work in each lesson, students are encouraged to answer five multiple-choice questions for homework.
Each series of workshops comprise a one-hour lesson each week for four weeks. Series B(i) - Compare, Contrast, Evaluation. The workshops are scaffolded so students are required to sign up for each four-week series in advance to afford continuity and build on the previous weeks’ learning. The full series is repeated every four weeks. Note: if you are signed up with me for 1-2-1 tutoring, you will enjoy a £5 discount on my courses - £10 per lesson instead of £15.
