This simple PowerPoint presentation is useful for KS3 students, and can be used in lessons as a discussion starter and introduction to each topic. It covers the elements of music, theory of music, musical periods and instruments of the orchestra.

Topics covered:

Elements of Music include: duration, dynamics, pitch, structure, tempo and texture

Theory of Music includes: notes, musical symbols, chords and sharps and flats

Musical Periods includes: Medieval Era, Renaissance Era, Baroque Era, Classical, Romantic and Modern music

Instruments of the Orchestra include: strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, the voice and world instruments
