Article on non-obvious career options; Inspiration for GCSE/A-Level choices

It is never obvious why you are learning subjects at school, nor easy for teachers to answer this question, but STEM subjects really do provide the best platform for you to discover and pursue the most exciting opportunities.

Part of a collection of interesting articles, resources and other links that will help students connect why studying subjects is important to help keep them motivated and provide purpose in their learning. As an Economics teacher it sometimes seems easier to explain the purpose, but there is always so much more to studying than the content; the skills, the disciplines but more excitingly the possibilities that it affords.

I am passionate about STEM subjects being essential skills that students should pursue, not for a specific goal, but because they help prepare for the goals for which you don't even know you are shooting; they may not yet exist!
