About OCR A-Level Physics
OCR has two qualifications: Physics A and Physics B. Physics A is a flexible content-led approach, where the specification is divided into topics and each topic covers different important concepts of physics. Physics B is a context-led approach, in which the students study physics in a range of different contexts that convey the excitement of contemporary physics.
OCR A Level Physics B
The OCR A level physics B is a context-led approach that helps the students to explore a wide range of physical concepts that they can apply to everyday as well as technical settings. It also helps them to develop their practical and investigative skills.
Modules of OCR A Level Physics B
The content of OCR A Level Physics B is divided into the following six modules:
- Module 1: Development of practical skills in physics
- Module 2: Fundamental data analysis
- Module 3: Physics in action
- Module 4: Understanding processes
- Module 5: Rise and fall of the clockwork universe
- Module 6: Field and particle
Components of OCR A Level Physics B
The new OCR A level physics B contains the following four components:
- Fundamentals of physics
- Scientific literacy in physics
- Practical skills in physics
- Practical endorsement in physics (It is a non-exam assessment)
To be awarded in OCR A level physics B, students are required to complete all the four components.
