Alive Poets

You may believe that verse is hard, dense,

abstruse, opaque, deliberately obsfucatory,

with arcane words and esoteric reference

preferred to plain and everyday vocabulary;

despair that lyric poets’ preoccupations

are with a hermeneutic of the self,

their raison d'êtres mere solipsistic passions,

not reading the world on your behalf.

But everything we say and all we write

might be poetic; by chance or by design

we play with words. And so I built a site

for any student moved to muse online.

Expound, discuss, declare, betray, confess.

alivepoets.com is the address.
