We check the identity of every tutor who registers with Tutorfair, however Tutors who are listed as Verified undergo an extra layer of verification including:
All Verified tutors must have recent enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks (previously CRB) or equivalent checks that are valid in the UK. These are the same checks schools use to establish suitability of working with children. We check there are no offences we believe could be a risk to working with students.
Each Verified tutor needs a minimum of 2 references publicly available on their profile before they can start.
We meet every Verified tutor face to face at our regular Fast Track Events, held here at Tutorfair HQ.
We require documented proof of the highest qualifications listed.
The tutors who are not Verified are currently going through this process. In the meantime, you may still book a tutor that is not Verified – we recommend that you carry out your own checks by asking them to bring the appropriate paperwork satisfying the above requirements to the first lesson.
We want to make it as easy and safe as possible for you to find the best tutors. Ultimately, clients and students are engaging with self-employed individuals and are responsible for their own safety. If you would like any more information or to give feedback about someone you met through Tutorfair or about our vetting process please don't hesitate to call.
