Every role at Tutorfair is about making a difference; gathering pioneering data, building advanced technology and working to reduce educational inequality.
Our team is made up of creative, optimistic, solution-orientated adventurers. We're always learning from each other thanks to our diverse backgrounds. We love to 'do' and we're always on the lookout for other characters who bring joy to their work to join us on this journey! If you think you’d be a good fit, we’d love to hear from you.
This role is perfect for someone looking to get stuck into programming and gain lots of strategic and business exposure. This is your chance to continue learning and apply your technical knowledge from day one.
It is probably best to describe a typical sprint. You will be responsible for the following things within the business:
Mostly PHP with some other technologies used where applicable. We host on AWS (VPC) and deploy several times weekly through CI/CD. DevOps are handled by our team. Our code base is thoroughly tested using selenium testing and unit tests. On the front end we mainly use Jquery, Bootstrap and Sass. We use Mysql data stores and leverage a service orientated architecture. Code is kept up to date and technical debt prioritised and removed. We use Git for source control. Basically, we use every means possible to keep our developers focused on improving the product and not caught up in spaghetti code.
