Tuition for All - Training Day for Volunteer Tutors

We are proud to say that we have successfully run our fifth Tutorfair training day, hosted by Teach First at the Regent High School in central London. It was an amazing turnout with some 50 volunteer tutors packing the room full of energy and passion to learn and help change the lives of underprivileged children.

"I love working with young people, I love to unlock their knowledge" - Djamila, English tutor

We kicked off by splitting the tutors into subject groups for more targeted training. Then we unleashed the knowledge of seven instructors, each professional educators, covering an intensive syllabus ranging from lesson planning to child safety. Across the two groups, we delivered over 17 hours of targeted training in one day!

Check out some of the highlights:

The objective of the Tutorfair training day was to ensure that all our volunteers left feeling confident enough to deliver a series of effective tutorials to a group of three students in one of our partner schools. Volunteers who took part in our training day then went on to tutor in our partner schools two weeks later.

We also took a few photos at the event, and you can find them on our Facebook page.

A massive thank you to our hosts at Teach First and our small army of instructors, helpers and volunteers:

MadeleineMarkIlona, Faye, FelicityNiallLucyBreanna and David!
