After the school closures, the Tutorfair Foundation has moved its programme completely online. We are now working with schools to offer weekly one-to-one lessons for students in many different subjects and at many different levels. Understandably, we have had a lot of interest from schools that want to access the provision for their students – but we have also seen an increased uptake from the UK’s private tutors.
In the last 3 weeks alone, we received 116 applications from tutors hoping to volunteer their time with the students at risk of falling behind. This is a significantly higher number of applications than we are used to seeing, and we are absolutely delighted to see it! Now more than ever, we needed this response from our community to help us deliver support to as many students as possible.
As we have adjusted our procedures to 2020’s new normal, there has been a delay in contacting and on-boarding new applicants. We are now ready to engage these applicants and more, with group safeguarding training in the diary and a growing waiting list of schools ready to join the programme.
We wanted to thank those who have already applied to the programme and encourage anyone else who is interested to get in touch and find out more. All applicants should now have heard from a member of the Foundation team and be looking to join one of our safeguarding training sessions in the next few weeks.
If you would like to volunteer with us, you can register your interest here. If you have students who you think would be eligible for our support, let us know here. If you have any questions at all, feel free to get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
