Foundation Student Adam is Writing Poems for a Good Cause

April 26, 2021 by Joss Serraillier
Image Bolton-based whizz-kid Adam is using his passion for maths for the power of good. Profits from his poetry book ‘Cooking Algebra in a Pot!’ will go towards Urban Outreach.  His aim is to raise enough money to provide 52,000 lunches at 29 Urban Outreach hubs across Lancashire.

Falling in love with English

10-year-old Adam has long been an impressive mathematician. He even started his own YouTube channel on the subject! However, his love of English flourished whilst working online with Foundation volunteer Hazal B.

Hazal shared her love of creative writing with Adam, who was inspired! Now, combining his passion for maths and English, Adam hopes to conquer ‘maths-phobia’ for all and raise money for a good cause.

“I am hoping one day to be an entrepreneur or a maths teacher,” says Adam. "I love helping other children understand maths. It's a great feeling.

"It's so important not to be afraid or anxious about maths. My mum says it is such a vital thing that helps you throughout life, and I think she is right."
