Brainly is a community app that allows students to ask questions about their homework to a community of over 350 million students and experts. The idea is that whenever you have a question or a problem, there’ll be someone there to help you.
From primary school to GCSEs and A Levels, Brainly is a useful app that works more like a social network and can help students in a matter of clicks. You can also post a picture of your homework and expect to get help in a few minutes. You can also earn points by helping others.

Brainly is a goldmine for a whole heap of different subjects. Be it maths, science, English, foreign languages, or even art, Brainly can help.

SnapSchool, a Community for Helping with Homework
SnapSchool is another app that allows students to ask for help with their homework from a community. It works in a very similar way to Brainly and it allows you to post a photo of your homework.
The community is very active and can help you with almost any subject. Tokens are awarded to those who help and the best answers (those with three tokens) are the ones you should pay attention to.
This helps make homework, revision, and studying less of a chore. It’s not quite private tuition, but it’s useful.

Montessori Numberland, Learn Maths Skills with an App
Montessori Numberland is a great app for kids wanting to work on their numeracy skills. As the name indicates, Numberland is a place where you can learn to count and do sums.
While Montessori Numberland isn’t a free app, it’s only a few pounds and a great investment for children aged 3 to 5. Learning to count isn’t the only thing they can do. There are also interactive activities and ways for them to learn to count in different languages.
The best thing about it?
The games make kids want to learn even more.
Lola’s Alphabet Train
Lola’s Alphabet Train is a free app that focuses on making learning fun. With Lola’s help and this app, children aged 3 to 7 can improve their literacy through games.
It’s colourful, bright, and is as useful as it is fun. Kids will master reading skills and the alphabet from A to Z.
DragonBox Big Numbers
This game is on the costlier side of things, but it’s a great app for kids wanting to know more about maths. DragonBox Big Numbers is closer to a game than an app and that’s why it’s so good for teaching children about numbers.
In the game, you have to build a world for the Nooms by learning how big numbers work through long addition and subtraction. I guess you could call this edutainment.

Gojimo, for GCSE and A Level Revision
This app offers over 40,000 practice questions across 28 GCSE subjects and 20 A Level subjects. You can download quizzes to use when offline as well as track your strengths and weaknesses so you'll know exactly what you need to work on.
While the app is only available on iOS, it's so good that we just had to mention it. Sorry, Android users!
Memrise, an App for Learning Languages
Memrise is free to download but it does offer subscriptions. With over 42 million subscribers, this app is a great way to learn different foreign languages while having fun. The first lesson is for free.
There are clips, animations, and interactive activities to help you learn everything from everyday expressions to grammar whilst having fun.
The best thing about it?
You learn the language that native speakers use.
There are quick revision modes and important word sessions you can use to improve your foreign language skills. There are also pronunciation guides to help you. You can download lessons to use when you’re offline so that you can study anywhere.
BBC Bitesize - GCSE, Nationals & Highers Revision
If you're studying for your GCSEs and regularly find yourself on the BBC Bitesize website, you might also want to consider downloading the app for your smartphone.
You can access revision guides on-the-go and work through flashcards. There are also useful summaries, videos, infographics, and quizzes to help you learn.
The app doesn't have every GCSE subject, but it's still highly recommended for most of the core subjects that the average GCSE student will be studying.
Thanks to these apps, children, teens, and adults can all study a variety of different subjects while having fun.
When it comes to revision, be it for internal exams, your GCSE, A Level, or degree, there are many different ways to revise and it's important you find the technique and approach that works best for you.
Since our mobile phones are with us most of the time and have access to a wealth of content, it's certainly worthwhile studying with them. Of course, this can't be the only way you revise and you may also want to consider flashcards, educational videos, listening to podcasts or audio guides, and reading a good old book.

You can get face-to-face tutorials, online tutorials, or group tutorials and given that each comes with its advantages and disadvantages, you need to think carefully about which one is right for you, your budget, and your learning objectives.
Face-to-face tutorials are between you and the tutor so every minute of the session will be spent focusing on your learning and education. These types of tutorials are usually the most expensive per hour as you're paying for all the extra time the tutor spends tailoring the lessons to you. However, they're also the most cost-effective since they're planned with you in mind and designed to teach you as effectively as possible.
Online tutorials are usually a bit cheaper since the tutors don't have to worry about the cost of getting to their students and can schedule more lessons each week. They'll still adapt their lessons to you, but for certain hands-on subjects, it can be better to have the tutor there in the room with you. However, for most academic subjects, it won't matter too much.
Group tutorials are a great option for those on a budget as you can share the cost of the tutor's time and experience with the other students in the class. While they can't tailor the lesson to you, it can sometimes be useful to learn with your peers as they can provide feedback and motivation. If you and some classmates need help with a given subject but can't afford a tutor on your own, group tutorials are the perfect compromise between tailored tuition and affordable education.
