In total, over 300,000 messages were sent through Tutorfair in 2019 which lead to thousands of lessons being booked on Tutorfair. We also saw a record number of lessons taking place online which is really exciting for us following the integration of our online classroom in 2018. We hope to expand online tuition even further in 2020!
The tech team released a whopping 50 website updates last year. These included massive projects such as notifications for desktop and mobile to small improvements to search results.
We started several new blog series, including our "How to" blog series and top tips from "Supertutor" Mark Maclaine. Plus, the Tutorfair Foundation provided weekly blog updates on exciting volunteer placements and projects.
In September, The Tutorfair Foundation welcomed Joss as Foundation Director to the team and the Foundation went from strength to strength. This included starting up multiple new projects, and on 30th October 2019, placing their 1,000th volunteer. This is a huge milestone for a small organisation and a testament to the power and appeal of volunteer- led solutions in education.
We are so proud of our fantastic tutors who have volunteered their time for so many projects this year, including those who have attended voluntary training workshops and those who care to share their knowledge with students.
Thanks to you, 2019 was another fantastic year at Tutorfair! As we reflect on what we did last year to make Tutorfair better for our users, we also look forward to 2020 and how we can improve the website so that we can connect more tutors to help more students to achieve their learning goals!
